History of Adventure Camp

Located on little spring-fed lake in Mount Albert, Adventure Camp sits on 48 acres of beautiful Oak Ridges Moraine landscape, with gentle rolling hills, forests and an agricultural tradition.

Established to provide quality experiences for children in an outdoor environment, Adventure Camp welcomes children from age 5-12 from across York Region.

The Farm, as we call it, has been home to Adventure Camp since 2008, although the Adventure Camp program has been running for nearly 20 years. First at Blue Hills in Aurora, and later at a variety of natural locations around York Region.

Adventure Camp is operated by York Professional Care & Education, a charitable non-profit child care agency that operates in York Region and Simcoe County.

Since moving to The Farm, we have developed the waterfront, built program areas, established trails, and in 2015 we opened “The New Building” for indoor programming. Adventure Camp continues to work on expanding and updating our facilities to ensure that camper get the best experience.

Adventure Camp, and York Professional Care & Education, works with the York Region Child Care Fee Assistance program to provide summer child care. To learn more about that program visit www.York.ca.
